Salvation Army says thanks

Editor:
What an incredible, ambitious, and fruitful 2006 we have had at the Salvation Army Community Ministries. As many of you were aware, we felt the need to reconsider and reorganize the way we deliver our Emergency Social Services programming in Prince George, as the face of poverty is changing. The numbers of families and individuals who are considered ‘at risk’ of homelessness are increasing. Additionally, in 2006 we were faced with the urgent need to vacate our decrepit Third Avenue location which led to our relocation to the Community Church building on Ospika Blvd. We rebuilt and moved our Food Bank twice last year.
To those who had valid concerns over our move this past year, we would like to offer you our thanks for providing us the opportunity to thoughtfully consider our actions and to respond to your concerns, and we hope we met them to your satisfaction.
To those who endorsed our efforts and came alongside of us in a profoundly generous fashion with financial and goods support, and hundreds of volunteer hours, we offer you our deepest and most sincere gratitude. We appreciate the trust that you place in us along with the gifts you entrust us with.
Thank you one and all for your support this past year. We thank God for the amazing team of staff and volunteers who faithfully and passionately come through our doors to willingly serve our community with us. Our love and God’s blessing to you all in 2007.
