MLAs continue to toe the party line

Editor:
The quest by Premier Gordon Campbell to turn British Columbia into a monocracy is well under way with his jackboot policies and autocratic style of ruling this province.
Fascism appears to be alive and well as Mr. Campbell rams through legislation to quash the rights of workers that have been won over the past 100 years. We are at the mercy of a man with virtually no opposition that is on a crusade to kill unionism. From the blatant disregard for legally negotiated collective agreements in Bill 29, to the sellout of BC Rail dependant communities, Mr. Campbell has clearly demonstrated that he is not interested in the plight of the average British Columbian or those outside the Lower Mainland.
He sent a clear message to all of his MLA’s in the beginning by making an example of Paul Nettleton to demonstrate what would transpire if they dared oppose him. It should be no surprise to us now that Pat Bell and Shirley Bond continue to toe the party line regardless of the level discontent within their constituencies. They will pay the price for their folly come election time, but unfortunately the residents of Prince George will have to live with the consequences of their actions for many years to come.
