Mackenzie teens identified as victims of fatal crash
The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identities of two teens who died following a motor vehicle incident near McLeod Lake on April 3.
Dead are Leslie David Avery Jr., 17, and Ian Daryl Potvin, 16, both of Mackenzie.
Leslie Avery was the driver of, and Ian Potvin a passenger in, a car heading northbound on Highway 97 about 6:45 a.m. on April 3. About 200 metres north of Tudyah Lake Provincial Park, the car was in a collision with a southbound pickup truck hauling a flatbed trailer.
Both youths were deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate these deaths.
