CNC programs too valuable to disappear

Editor: We are writing this letter in regards to the impending abrupt closure of the Dental Studies Programs at the College of New Caledonia. We are strongly urging the President and the Board of Governors of CNC to reconsider the closure of the Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs. Both of these programs represent jewels in the dental education community and are involved in serving the entire Northern half of the province with well-trained dental professionals. Stop Bill C-51 before freedoms are gone

Editor: Please help us get the word out Bill C-51 must be stopped. If this bill is allowed to go through, within a few short years we will lose every freedom we currently enjoy. Ian Tyson returns to Prince George for show June 6

Canadian music legend Ian Tyson will bring his songs and stories to Vanier Hall in Prince George on June 6. Tyson, who turned 81 last fall, is showing no signs of slowing down. Between his ranch in the foothills of the Rockies and his music, he finds ways to keep busy. In the past 10 years, he has released four albums, put out a two-disc concert video and filmed a music documentary for Bravo. Oh, and he also wrote his autobiography, The Long Trail: My Life in the West and did some touring....

Students create flash mob outside Prince George RCMP building

Downtown Prince George was treated to some spontaneous entertainment this morning, but only for a few minutes. At approximately 10:15 a.m., 170 elementary and secondary students converged on the Prince George City Detachment to take part in a flash mob. A flash mob is a sudden large public gathering where people perform an unusual or seemingly random act and then disperse immediately afterward. In this case, the mob, joined by local RCMP officers, performed a choreographed dance to Taylor...
