A 51-year-old Prince George man is dead following a single-vehicle crash near Mackenzie January 29. Mackenzie RCMP were called to the scene, approximately 15 kilometres north of the Highway 39 junction to Mackenzie, at 2:44 p.m. Officers arrived on scene to find that a southbound Ford F350 pickup had lost control, crossed the centreline, traveled off the roadway and struck a power pole. A design flaw led to the catastrophic breach of a tailings pond at Mount Polley Mine last summer.
