BC Amatuer Hockey Association Provincials Championships get underway today. Prince George is playing host to the Peewee B and Midget B tournaments.
The Viking Construction Peewee B Cougars will begin the day off against Burnaby Winter Club at 8:15 a.m. in Kin One. The Cats will be back in action at 1:45 against North Shore Winter Club.
On Monday the Cougars will face off against Kamloops at 3:15 p.m.
On Tuesday the Cats will play Fort St. John at 1:30 p.m.
They will complete their round robin play on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. against Cowichan Valley.
The final is set at 4:30 p.m. in Kin One.
The Coast Inn of the North Midget B Cougars will open the tournament against Kelowna at 11 a.m. They will face off against South Delta at 5 p.m. as well.
On Monday the Cats will face off against Coquitlam at 6 p.m.
The Cats will face off against Fort St. John on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
They will play their last round robin game on Wednesday at 1:15 against Comox.
The final is set for 7:45 p.m. All Prince George games and finals will be played in Kin 1.
The Prince George Gymnastics Club is putting on a fundraising bottle drive on March 14 at the PG Gymnastics Club. It will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Money raised will go towards the 2005 PGTV B.C. Provincial Gymnastics Championships which will be held at the Civic Centre from April 2 to 4.
Tickets have gone on sale for the 2004 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships which will be held in the city from April 17 to 24 at the Prince George Coliseum and the Multiplex.
Teams playing will be Atlantic, Eastern Door and the North, Ontario North, Ontario South, Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. will each gave an male and female team and Manitoba will have a male team.
Tickets are $5 per day or a tournament pass is $30.
The tournament will feature top midget and bantam age aboriginal hockey players from Canada.
