• The UNBC Northern Timberwolves are back on the soccer pitch this weekend, hosting the Langara College Falcons on Saturday and the Douglas College Royals on Sunday.
Entering the B.C. Colleges Athletic Association contests, the men are sporting a record of one win and three losses (1-0-3), while the women have two ties and two losses (0-2-2).
Action begins at noon at the North Cariboo pitches on both days.
• The UNBC Northern Wolfpack Invitational has arrived again, kicking off for a fourth time.
The rugby tournament is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, featuring four men’s teams and four women’s squads.
In the men’s division, UNBC, the Prince George Gnats, Penticton and a combined team from Terrace and Prince Rupert will hit the field.
The women’s division includes UNBC, the Prince George Vixens, Kelowna and Grande Prairie.
Games take place at Masich Place Stadium and are slated to run from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
• Playoffs for the men’s and women’s soccer leagues in Prince George conclude this Sunday.
For the men, finals in Division 1, Division 2 and the Masters division are slated to take place. The women’s Division 1 final is also being held.
