RCMP refuse to comment on the reports a member is under investigation for his involvement with prostitutes in Prince George.
“I cannot confirm or deny there is an investigation,” said Sgt. John Ward, the officer in charge of strategic communications and media relations for the RCMP’s “E” (B.C.) Division.
Television reports Wednesday night alleged a member who was stationed in Prince George was suspended with pay and was under investigation for his involvement with prostitutes in the city. Some reports said the officer’s case could be linked to that of former Judge David Ramsey, who was sentenced to seven years in prison this summer for assaulting underage prostitutes, some of whom appeared before him in court.
Prince George detachment media relations officer Const. Mike Caira issued a news release before business hours Thursday morning referring all inquiries to Ward.
