Minor injuries in house fire on Grace Crescent
At approximately 1:45 a.m. Sunday, Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a house fire in the 3800 Block of Grace Cres. Eleven firefighters from two halls responded in three trucks.
On arrival, they were met outside by the home’s two residents. The occupants had been awakened by the sound of the home’s activated smoke alarms. They were able to flee the house and call 911.
Fire crews located the fire in the basement area and it was quickly extinguished. However, there is significant fire damage in the basement and smoke damage through-out the house. No estimate of damage is available at this time.
One occupant was treated on scene for minor smoke inhalation. There were no other injuries.
Fire investigators will be on scene today, seeking to determine the cause of the fire, but it is not considered suspicious in nature.
