It’s no secret that Conservative Prince George-Peace River MP Jay Hill was seeking reelection.
Now it’s official. Hill entered the race to once again represent Prince George-Peace River in Ottawa when he filed his nomination papers today in Dawson Creek.
Hill, who has held the position as MP for Prince George-Peace River since 1993 and served as Minister of State to Assist the Prime Minister and Chief Government Whip in the last Parliament, officially signaled his intent to seek re-election at the Elections Canada Returning office at 9 a.m. Friday morning before hitting the campaign trail heading north up the Alaska Highway.
“I am proud to run this election campaign on my record and on the accomplishments of our Conservative government throughout the past two-and-a-half years,” said Hill.
Hill added that in the weeks leading up to election day on October 14, he will be asking constituents and local community leaders to continue to support the vision and path undertaken by the Conservatives and leader Stephen Harper towards a secure, prosperous and proud future for Canada.
Canadians who are unable to vote at advance polls or on Election Day may vote by special ballot. Applications to register to vote by special ballot may be obtained at Elections Canada returning offices in Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson, Fort St. John and Prince George, at www.elections.ca or by contacting Jay Hill’s campaign office.
