The somber remembrance we observe every November 11 inevitably prompts a variety of emotions. Chief among them is likely a profound sadness accompanied by an overwhelming sense of loss - lives wasted, relatives and loved-ones never known.

Rural and Northern British Columbians have never trusted Victoria to have their best interests at heart. They believe, with good reason, that the government sees the resource- rich areas of the province as a cow to be milked for the benefit of the major urban centres. The cream flows south; the skim milk remains.
