If you’re wondering what it means to be a Wheelin’ Warrior, mark Jan. 14 on your calendar.
The Wheelin’ Warriors of the North is a Prince George-based team which takes part in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a bicycle ride and fundraiser for the BC Cancer Foundation. This will be the third year for the Wheelin’ Warriors, and team captain Karin Piche says they already have 37 people signed up.
The Warriors do the Classic ride, which is a two-day ride from Vancouver to Seattle, covering more than 200 kilometres on the Aug. 29 and 30 weekend.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a Wheelin’ Warrior for this year’s ride can get more information and register at a special event Jan. 14, running from 6 to 8 p.m. at the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North at 1215 Lethbridge St.
Members of this year’s team will be there and they will be joined by Jennifer Knight, the corporate and orientation specialist for the Ride to Conquer Cancer.
