The snow and ice is going and that means dust.
There is so much dust in the air this morning, the city Ministry of Environment and Northern Health have issued a dust advisory as it is affecting air quality.
The provincial air quality objective coarse particles in the air (PM10) is 50 micrograms/cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24-hour PM10 rolling average was 52 micrograms/cubic metre at Plaza 400, 26 at College Heights, and 37 at the BCR industrial site at 8 a.m. this morning.
The high levels are due to road dust. Calm winds overnight as well as clear skies contributed to dust accumulating in the air shed.
