RCMP officers seem to need more training

Editor:
The photo by John McKenzie of three RCMP officers responding to reports of gunshots (May 28) would have made my armed combat instructors literally kick butt.
I was discharged from military service with NATO in 1963. The next line was shouted and drilled into our thick young heads: Do not bunch up.
I hope the photo was posed. If not, then the RCMP tactical instructors should preach the above mantra, as it will up your odds of not being the target of most importance.
Also, return fire from members of a bunch up has been known to put holes in members of said bunch up.
A long burst from a weapon on full auto covers a fair-sized area, probably about four times the size of the photo.
You (RCMP) put your lives on the line every day. By and large, this is greatly appreciated. However, don’t make it any easier for the wackos.
By paying attention to the above words of wisdom, you too may live long enough to have a thick old head.
