Daybreak North Live Broadcast
On Friday, March 6 (today) CBC radio will be onsite at Cafe Voltaire in Books and Company to broadcast their morning show Daybreak North which starts at 6 a.m. One of the guests on the show is Dr. Valerie Giles who will be talking about her new book Remembering. After Daybreak North has wrapped up their show, B.C. Almanac is going to follow suit and do their live broadcast at 12 p.m.
‘Remembering’ Book Signing
Local history author Valerie Giles has a book launch today (Friday, March 6) at 2 p.m. at Books and Company for her book Remembering, a celebration of Prince George’s storied past, as told in articles written by Giles for her newspaper column in the period 1998 to 2009. The book published by CNC Press comprises over 560 articles about landmark moments in the city’s history and covers a broad range of stories from our city’s origins and throughout the last century including wartime history, distinguished citizens and industry development.
Walk and Talk
Join members of the Canadian Diabetes Association for a Walk and Talk outdoor program that runs every Saturday for 10 weeks starting March 14 at 10 a.m. This free program includes a short presentation, prizes and incentives and good companionship. Studio 2880 Featured Artist
The Prince George and District Community Arts Council presents artist Vivian Martin in the Feature Gallery. Martin is known for her unique fabric sculptures, mixed media, acrylic painting, drawing and contemporary art. Her new exhibit: Upcycle. Transform.
