The Prince George Symphony Orchestra’s (PGSO) ever popular Pops in the Park event which marks the official opening of the 2008-2009 season is back this year on Sept. 7 at the Fort George Park bandshell.
Enjoy an afternoon of live performance including many old and new favourites from films, musicals, television and popular recordings. The free annual event is a perfect place for children, teens and families to listen to music and enjoy the sights and sounds of summer. There will be good food and exhibits from community groups around Prince George as well as music for classical and popular music lovers.
Exhibits from BC Hydro, Prince George Conservatory of Music, The Violin Shop, Two Rivers Gallery and others will be on site along with a variety of food vendors. Prizes and tickets to upcoming PGSO concerts will be given away. Beach Boys fans take note: CN Centre representatives will be at the concert with some free tickets for the upcoming Beach Boys concert Sept. 24.
Pops in the Park gets underway on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. at Fort George Park. Folks are encouraged to come early and check out the exhibits and get a good viewing spot. For more information call the PGSO office, 2880 15th Ave. at 250-562-0800 or visit online at www.pgso.com.
