Costs for both the Response and Recovery to the Ice Jam & Flood are now approaching $4.2 million. The majority of the costs incurred to date are for response activities undertaken since the ice jam and Flood began on December 11, 2007.
Water levels are down slightly at most measuring points along the Nechako River including at Morning Place where a few homes experienced groundwater flooding last weekend.
Representatives of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Team, Ministry of Environment and Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG) EOC Team will take a helicopter flight over the Nechako River this afternoon to survey the length of the ice jam and determine if any changes in ice conditions or water levels have occurred in the past few days.

The City and the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Team will host the third Community Information Forum on Tuesday, February 5 at the Civic Centre, Room 101 beginning at 7 pm. The meeting will consist of brief presentations on what’s new’ with the ice jam and flood, followed by a question-answer session.
