Prince George woman killed in crash
A Prince George woman was killed in Friday’s accident on Highway 97 north of Quesnel.
Dead is Leanne Marie Burchill, 20, of Prince George.
Burchill was the front-seat passenger in a pickup truck that was involved in a head-on collision with another pickup truck on Highway 97 about 10 kilometres north of Quesnel near the turnoff to 10 Mile Lake at about 9:15 a.m. on March 15.
Burchill was deceased at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate this death.
Police have determined that a tow truck working in the area on an unrelated matter, resulted in the south bound traffic coming to a stop. One of the vehicles in this line of southbound traffic pulled out into the north bound lane in an attempt to continue south. This resulted in a head on collision with a north bound pickup truck.
Weather and road conditions were less than desirable at the time of the crash. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or has any information pertaining to the collision are asked to call the RCMP or Crime stoppers.
