Two boys walk away from youth detention centre

Prince George RCMP are requesting the public's help in locating two youths who walked away from youth detention camp south of Prince George.

Just before 9:30 a.m,. the Prince George RCMP received a report of two missing youths that left Camp Trapping, a youth detention camp located approximately 50 kilometres south of Prince George off Highway 97.

General Duty officers and a police service dog with handler, attended the area to search for the two both aged 14 and 17.  The youths would have to navigate through six kilometres of terrain in order to get to Highway 97, assuming they head in the right direction.

Police have spoken with the few residents in the area, with negative results.

Both youths are wearing:

  • Large blue work parka
  • Black gum boots
  • Blue checkered pajama pants (1st youth) / grey sweat pants (2nd youth)

The Prince George RCMP would like to request the public's help in locating these two young men.  They are asking motorists traveling in the area to keep an eye out, as they may attempt to hitchhike from the area. If anyone locates them, we are asking they do not stop, but call 9-1-1 immediately.
