Two arrested, two still at large following kidnapping and assault
Police are looking for two men following a kidnapping and assault in a rural area east of Prince George on Sunday.
Prince George RCMP are looking for 24-year-old Francois Christiaan Meerholz and 22-year-old Dillan Meerholz.
A number of RCMP officers attended the Ferndale area Sunday and located an adult male victim suffering from serious, but non-life threatening injuries. The man was transported by the BC Ambulance Service to the University Hospital of Northern BC for treatment.
It is believed that the victim was being held for a number of days in a residence in the rural community. The Prince George RCMP's Serious Crime Section was called into assist with the investigation.
Officers attended the residence located on Upper Fraser Road and arrested a 32-year-old man without incident. While searching the residence for other suspects and victims, a small marijuana grow operation was located along with stolen property. Search warrants were obtained.
A second suspect, a 35-year-old adult male, was arrested without incident on Monday.
Both Meerholz's are still at large.
Francois Christian Meerholz is described as:
- 24 years old
- 168 cm (5'6")
- 64 kgs (140 lbs)
- Green eyes
- Short brown hair
Dillian Meerholz is described as:
- 22 years old
- 180 cm (5'11")
- 82 kgs (180 lbs)
- Green eyes
- Short blonde hair
Locating these two suspects is a priority for investigators.
Investigators will be recommending charges of kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, possession of property obtained by crime, and production of a controlled substance.
Investigators believe these serious offences are drug related and targeted. All four suspects are known to police, however investigators do not believe the public are at risk.
