Prince George voters turn down HST

Prince George voters was solidly opposed to the harmonized sales tax, which has been rejected by provincial voters in a referendum.

Province-wide, British Columbians voted 54.73 per cent in favour of eliminating the HST and returning to the goods and services tax and provincial sales tax system.

Voters in Prince George-Valemount voted 58.73 per cent in favour of scrapping the tax while voters in Prince George-Mackenzie voted 56.92 per cent in favour of scrapping the tax.
