Integrated Gang Task Force in Prince George over long weekend
If you thought you saw a lot of police in town over the Canada Day long weekend, you were right.
There was an increased police presence in the community, including the Integrated Gang Task Force, which is a unit of uniformed officers made up of municipal police from around the province, and the RCMP.
The North District RCMP Traffic Services Section also stepped up patrols over the long weekend and both the traffic section and gang unit were assisted by general duty officers, the Downtown Enforcement Unit, and Police Dog Services.
The Prince George RCMP are confident that the increased police presence over the long weekend decreased the amount of calls for service and increased the likelihood that residents and visitors of Prince George had a happy and safe Canada Day long weekend.
