Man jailed for sexual assault
What started with flirting quickly escalated to a violent assault in a downtown alley and now a prison term for a Prince George man.
Kelsey Allard was sentenced Friday in B.C. Supreme Court for the May 2010 attack. He received an effective sentence of 23 months in jail for sexual assault, attempting to choke to overcome resistance, uttering threats, and bail breaches.
Allard, who is in his late 20s, was found guilty following trial in October 2010. The name of the woman, who was in her late 40s at the time, is protected by a publication ban.She and Allard had been drinking at The Generator nightclub and met an hour before closing time, then left the bar together on foot, according to the judge's written reasons that were posted online after trial.
The woman testified the two were "flirting around, hugging and walking," before they ended up in a downtown alley.
She said Allard suddenly became angry over money, then he grabbed her hair and smashed her face against a fence.Allard, she said, also choked her and forced her to perform oral sex on him, and told her repeatedly, "I'm going to kill you."
The victim testified she fought for her life and somehow managed to break free and get help from a security guard.Police arrested Allard soon after. At the time, he was on bail for another alleged sexual assault in February 2010. A decision in that case is expected in May.
