Lost and Found
One person’s junk is another’s treasure, or so the Two Rivers Gallery hopes.
The art gallery is sending out a call for submissions for display in it’s upcoming exhibition Found.
Once a year the gallery puts on an exhibition that features art from Central Interior artists, based on a single theme. Last year’s theme was Forest, the theme of this year’s exhibition is Found.
“Found, as a word, as a theme, is open to considerable interpretation,” said George Harris, curator of the Two Rivers Gallery. “Whether or not it’s about discovery or about using a found object in their art work – are possible avenues of interpretation.”
Central Interior visual artists can submit up to three of their works exploring the theme Found, with a statement outlining the relationship between the piece and the theme. The work should be new – created within the last three years – and should not have been previously exhibited in Prince George.
Submission packages – which should include slides or good quality photographs with the works dimensions; the Found statement; a current resume or short write-up about the artist; a self addressed, stamped envelope and a completed and signed entry form – are due February 6.
The exhibition will be on display from March 11 to May 2.
