Little Valley Farms, near Vanderhoof, will be featuring a range of their beef products at the Old Town Farm Market in Prince George from July 30 to August 2. It is their first opportunity to put local beef into a retailer. It is a big change in marketing, considering they were previously exporting live animals.
They will feature a wide array of products such as stirfry meat, beef kabobs and sirloin burgers at the market, which is open year-round. Depending upon what consumers want, they will adjust their products accordingly.
“It’s a huge opportunity,” said Denise Dowswell, a third-generation farmer. Her grandfather started the farm and was the first doctor in Vanderhoof. The fresh meat is all natural and raised exclusively in the Nechako Valley.
