It all starts today. The 98th annual Prince George Exhibition, affectionately referred to as the PGX, gets underway today.
Celebrate our agricultural roots, or just have a lot of fun, with a trip to the PGX at the Exhibition Grounds sometime between now and Sunday afternoon. You’ll be glad you did.
Check out the 4-H displays. Visit the petting farm and agriculture alley, watch one of the livestock competitions, draft horse pulls and skilled events, light horse show, bull riding, team penning, top dog agility show, stock dog trials.
Stroll through indoor and outdoor trade shows and shop for unique items not found in any store. Walk down Heritage Lane, an authentic replica of yesteryear’s little shops that pays tribute to the growth of our community and highlights the people and events that have shaped our province and our agricultural roots. Enjoy the strolling entertainers, snack on pie and ice cream at Huble General Store and watch as the Railway and Forestry Museum operating mini rail winds its way around the track.
Check out the blue ribbons on the Home Arts and Horticulture entries and admire the handcrafted items in the giant Quilt Fair. Stop by the Tea Garden for healthy refreshments, enjoy the outdoor community stage which highlights our cultural diversity and showcases local talent. Taste traditional fair food perogies, coney fries, mini donuts and candy floss found in the Food Court along with delicious ethnic food.
Take in the stellar free shows on the full production stage indoors in Kin 1 and watch the Firefighters Challenge. All ages are welcome at the PGX.
So, if you’re looking for something fun to do between now and Sunday, and if you aren’t, check out the PGX.
