We know that Northern Health mandates our fluoridated water and fixes the concentration as it deems necessary presently at 0.7 ppm (parts per million).
We know, further, that the city of Prince George is involved in the manufacturing, sale, marketing, prescribing and dispensing of our fluoridated water.
“Any substance used with the intent to prevent disease is defined as a drug. Fluoride is a drug not simply an additive like chlorine. If the city claims they are only adjusting the natural level of fluoridation, they are misbranding’ the fluoride drug.” (1)
All fluoride products used in the artificial fluoridation of water are contaminated with lead and arsenic. (2)
Are you aware that fluoridating a public water supply is administering a drug? In particular, a drug unapproved for human consumption? (3)
Are you, or any city councillors or employees, qualified to prescribe medication?
Are there registered physicians or pharmacists employed by the city, who will have examined everyone who is to get fluoridated water? And will they follow up on each for their effects, as is ethically required?
Are you aware that medical ethics require that any recipient of medical intervention must have given his/her informed consent beforehand?
Are you aware that the recipient must be given the reasons for the medical intervention and further, informed of any/ all possible side effects of said drug?
Are you aware of the hundreds of credible studies showing a connection between “acceptable” dosage of fluoridated water with such disabilities as diminished thyroid function, uptake of lead in the brain, skeletal fluorosis, and osteosarcoma, etc?
Do you believe that fluoride in drinking water is safe for all persons in a population, regardless of the inevitable unequal distribution of sensitivity? For example, some subpopulations consume much greater quantities of water outdoor workers, athletes, diabetics, infants and young children. To conclude:
1. Once and for all, rid our city of fluoridated water, thus saving thousands of taxpayer dollars and purifying our water.
2. Those who prefer fluoridated water can choose fluoridated toothpaste, mouth rinse, fluoride tablets and/or fluoride treatments from their dentist;
3. Those who never wanted fluoridated water, whether for ethical, religious, health, and/or environmental reasons, will be free to choose what works best for them.
We believe freedom of choice is every person’s birthright.
