The Prince George Communities in Bloom Committee has announced the results of the inaugural “Councillor over a Barrel” contest.
First place went to Coun. Shari Green and parks foreman Larry Ward.
The mayor and members of Council were partnered with City of Prince George parks staff and two committee members, and nine barrels were planted with flowers earlier this year for the competition.
The barrels were on display at the PGX and members of the public were invited to vote on their favourite barrels.
Second place went to Coun. Don Bassermann and gardener Karen Davison. Third place went to Coun. Cameron Stolz and gardener Brenda Torville.
The votes for the remaining barrels were very close. The barrels are still on display and have now been moved to the Downtown Community Garden at Seventh and Victoria.
