It’s about inner peace and bringing closure.
Nationally recognized psychic/medium Teresa Gordon recently returned from a trip to Greece, where she opened up herself to the strong auras of the ancient city and is now ready to take on Prince George.
This weekend at the Days Inn, Gordon, along with her daughter Tara and rising star Sterling will be showcasing their gifts with the metaphysical world at the Psychic Expo.
“We spent three days in Prince George last spring and we had great success,” said Gordon. “The response already to this year’s Expo has been very good.”
The weekend will feature the well known and traditional private readings, tarot cards and palmistry, and will also play host to a healing centre and a meditation tent.
“I’m hoping this time to focus a bit more on the crystal and angel healing aspects,” said Gordon with her honey smooth voice. “The crystal healing is very successful, for a variety of negative physical and mental ailments.”
Coming from a long line of Scottish readers and psychics, Gordon’s gift was passed onto her – just as she’s passed it to her daughter. And with the recent hoop la surrounding that of mediums and ‘the other side’, Gordon offers this: “I think people are tired of mainstream religion,” she said after a pause. “People are searching for answers, they’re looking for the truth. This is not a new phenomena, psychic’s have been around for centuries, this is one of the oldest professions.”
And while Gordon’s gift has been recognized by countless individuals, law enforcement and entertainment types. She says everybody possesses a touch of the psychic. “You know when you just get a bad feeling?” she asked. “There it is. You know when a dog just doesn’t like somebody? There is it is again. We’ve just been taught to suppress it.”
Gordon’s possessed the gift since birth, but it was Grade six and an open-minded teacher who pointed out just how ‘connected’ she really was. “We were playing a game,” she said. “The teacher would ask each student to predict the next card. I just kept nailing it, over and over, he finally said to me ‘Teresa, you have an incredible gift. Nurture it.'”
And if that wasn’t enough, a 17-year-old Gordon saw her grandfather, a man who had been dead for years. It is the reconnection with loved ones that has always been the most sought after medium, and Gordon also finds it the most satisfying. “You’re helping people,” she said. “You’re giving them answers and bringing closure. It’s incredibly satisfying.”
It’s also draining and, by her own omission, kinda spooky. “Sometimes it’s very intense and I’ll find my mortal thinking heading in the direction of ‘Wow, here she is, this passed walking, talking 12-year-old.’ But then I remember I’m helping her, I’m helping her parents. So it does and it doesn’t scare me.”
The Psychic Expo gets underway this Fri. at 4 to 9 p.m., Sat. 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sun. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to last years success, bookings are going fast, call 1-888-792-6376 for more information.
“It’s a feeling,” said Gordon in response to her gift. “It’s about real connections, real truth – that’s what this is all about.”
