It Happens Every Summer
Students from the Kelly Road theatre group will be presenting David Rogers three act play It Happens Every Summer. Directed by Geoff Rhodenizer, the play centres around Debutante’Magazine which every year invites promising young writers from colleges to experience life in New York as a magazine editor. Playing May 26 to 29, Wednesday through Saturday. All proceeds go to the Kelly Road Drama Program. Tickets for Adults $8, Students $6, Children $3, Seniors $5. Doors open at 7 p.m. curtain at 7:30 p.m.
Hip hip hooray
Hip hip hooray is back. Pick up a pledge form and support the local Orthopaedic department at Prince George Regional Hospital.The fifth annual Hip Hip Horray event is cheduled to take place at Massey Place Stadium, Sunday, May 30th from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Hip Hip Hooray is a Cross Canada Walk by Canadians who have benfitted from orthopaedic surgery and care in Canada.
It is conducted by the Canadian Orthopaedic Foundation with the strong and active support of a committee of local volunteers hat includes surgeons, nurses, physiotherapists, nutritionists and patients. In 2003 volunteers across the country raised $1.4 million towards our mission to achieve bone and joint health through the advancement of research, education and care. The 2004 national taget is $1.7 million.
Come out and join in a celebration of restored mobility and quality of life. T-shirts will be issued to all walkers who have collected pledges and some prizes will be awarded. For further information call Dr. Moran’s office at 564-6313.
Man the decks
Shine up that boat. The third Annual Francois Lake Regatta is just around the corner. May 29 and 30 Francois Lake Resort. Saturday Regatta, potluck BBQ dinner. Trophy and prize presentation. Sunday, breakfast, fun events and a few surprise events. Structured regatta with marked buoys, timekeepers, handicaps and committee boats. Sailors meeting Saturday at 9 a.m. to decide start time based on weather conditions. Lots of prizes, stories, trophies and lots of fun. Be quick, only room for 25 boats. Registration is $20 per boat.
