The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Trojans has local flavour to it with Prince George minor hockey product Jaime Teichman.
A freshman at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Teichman played last season for the Werner Warriors Midget team in Edmonton when she was recruited by the Trojans.
As the team enters it’s winter break the Trojans are having their best start to the season with a 6-2-2 record.
“Things here are going really well. Our team is going really good,” said Teichman from Calgary. “We’re one point out of first place right now. We’re having a really great season.”
Teichman has three goals and six assists in 10 games this season. Her biggest goal came against the University of Calgary.
“My highlight was agianst U of C when we played at their rink. It was tied 2-2 and we were in overtime and I got the breakaway and scored. That was pretty cool. I think it was the fourth game of the season,” said Teichman.
Teichman said the level of play in the ACAC is competitive.
“It’s really, really fun. There are lots of good teams. Most of the teams are all pretty even so it’s good competition,” said Teichman who played rep hockey in Prince George growing up.
“Playing with the guys really helped me improve my skills a lot. I played with them until second year midget and then I played with the Northern Blades and the Kamloops Outback,” said Teichman.
