A cabin at Cluculz Lake has burnt down after a fire in the residence at about 9:15 p.m. on Thursday.
The Cluculz Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire, but by the time they arrived the cabin was already fully engulfed. No one was in the cabin at the time the fire was sparked.
Luckily firefighters managed to contain the fire to just the cabin; Deputy Chief Gail Poisson said if it had spread, another forest could have been the result.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Vanderhoof RCMP.
Two other cabins in the area were damaged by fire in July.
