The Prince George Chamber of Commerce is taking on a cozy new look during the 2015 Canada Winter Games.
The office on Vancouver Street will become Chamber House, a place where members can warm up, enjoy a hot beverage, watch 2015 Games events, or work remotely. Relax inside the Brick Lounge, where you will find leather couches and a big screen TV. Conveniently located two blocks away from the action in Canada Games Plaza, Chamber House will provide an intimate space for members to socialize, network, or do business, while taking in events in the downtown.
“We are offering this free service as a benefit of membership,” said Christie Ray, Chamber CEO, “This is your chamber, and we want members to think of Chamber House as their house during the 2015 Canada Winter Games.”
Starting February 14, Chamber House will be open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. weekdays, and from noon to 9 p.m. on weekends. Members will have access to wifi to check e-mails or work away from the office. Those who don’t have a TV at their workplace will be able to watch events, courtesy of Shaw Cable. Members also have the opportunity to book a space at Chamber House to host clients or guests from out of town at no cost.
“We recognize that with all the excitement, and with so many people visiting our city during the 2015 Games, members may need a quieter, cozy place to meet and network,” said Ranjit Gill, chamber president. “Chamber House will enable members to do that, while still taking part in all the fun and activities.”
Various hot beverages will be served daily at Chamber House for free. Members are invited to sponsor drinks for a day. There is also an opportunity for member restaurants to donate food or beverages for one or multiple days.
