We recieve here at the Free Press on a weekly basis a Member of Parliament Report, dutifully written by Jay Hill, MP for Prince George - Peace River. It arrives both by e-mail and fax. While the report always contains valuable information it would virtually never be published in these pages "as is."
As British Columbians wait patiently for their big income tax cuts to kickstart the province’s economy, the Liberal government is basking in the afterglow of fulfilling their “90 day” commitments. They fulfilled all of their promises from “conducting a comprehensive audit of the province’s finances and making the results public” to “appointing an independant public inquiry into the fast ferry fiasco and the mismanagement of B. C. Ferries.”...
Just over two weeks have passed since the terrorist attacks. The count of those missing has risen to nearly 6,500 people. Support amongst the American public for a military response remains strong, hovering at over 90 per cent. But as the efforts to track down the so-called prime suspect intesifies and the recovery effort to retrieve the bodies of the victims gets more grim, some curious anamolies are cropping up in America.
An open letter to Paul Nettleton.
Mr. Nettleton, I ran into you in the Vancouver airport about a month ago and had a few minutes to express my feeling and to congratulate you and your government on a good start to bringing our beautiful province back to where it belongs in Canada, NUMBER ONE!
As crass as it sounds those despicable acts by the terrorists in the U.S.A. last week could and should be taken as a wake up call to us Canadians. And especially by those that want to separate in Quebec and B.C.
