The law is the law, nothing more, nothing less. Our laws are the rules we have allowed our government, with our consent, to lay down so we can avoid chaos in our lives. Laws, like the rules we lay down for our children, are not always fair. Fair or not, they are the laws until we change them through legitimate political action.
